The Commercial Division operates in the bustling Commercial Property Market and is one of the UK's top lenders in its field.
It offers graduates the chance to join a thriving business, responsible for a wide range of finance solutions for a spectrum of exciting clients.
The Division has grown at a rapid pace and generates almost a third of Nationwide's total profits.
Our business activity is split across four key areas:
Property Finance & Structured Property Finance
Both Property Finance and Structured Property Finance are multi-billion pound asset businesses, which have expanded through our fantastic reputation for delivering bespoke property finance. Clients include major property investors and professional advisors and individual commitments range from £250,000 to in excess of £300m for the purchase or refinance of property.
Housing Finance
The Housing Team lend to social housing providers, enabling them to purchase and improve properties to rent to people with housing needs, at affordable rents. We are the UK's No 1 Social Housing Funder with over £8 billion of commitments.
Syndicated Lending
This team works in the inter-bank market and supports the other business areas by facilitating the sale of our own originated commercial property debt and the purchase of other lender's debt.
The ability to understand complex transactions, handle innovative negotiations and provide exceptional relationship management is critical to our success.
As a graduate entrant you will be offered the opportunity to represent our business externally from an early stage. Your key responsibilities will include liaising with colleagues, negotiating with our clients and other property professionals including lawyers and other large financial institutions.
By encouraging this level of responsibility, we will enable you to drive your own development, whilst enjoying the full support of your colleagues. Along with various specialist training seminars, we will also support you to achieve an appropriate professional qualification. The preferred course is the BSc (Hons) Degree in Financial Services and Associateship.
As well as a minimum 2.1 degree in any discipline, you will need 240 UCAS points or equivalent (excluding General Studies). On top of that we welcome the confidence to challenge our approach and to influence the direction of our business.
